Google Update

I noticed this past week that many of my pages dropped significantly in the Google Search results. With nothing changed on my end that only leaves Google to be the cause. I’m sure they were just updating their index files or adjusting that algo, but either way things are back to normal as of this morning.
The question of how they cache pages is always debated by myself and other SEOs but we all have our own opinons. I personally watch my pages quite closely, and this particular change is not a result in a different cache. I believe that Google is updating or adjusting their algorithm.
